the loss of the future by suicide

the loss of the future by being incarcerated for life

the loss of the future by refusing to learn or expand horizons in a persons intellect/thought

Remember.... all of the above losses were made by a "choice" or repercussions of a choice none were accidental.

Suicide would be the most devestating loss because it is a complete loss of life and particularly tragic because it's at the person's own hand, meaning the person hated him/herself enough to end his/her life. It doesn't get much worse than that.

Being in jail for life would be terrible but you would still be alive & would have a chance of redemption. You could read. Learn something new. You might even get time off for good behaviour. There would be a small chance you might one day be free. And you could still be free in your mind, learn to meditate. You would have some time outside. Time to exercise, to sleep. It would be difficult but you would still be alive.

Being closed-minded seems a pretty tame loss in comparison to the others! You are still alive & not locked up so you are still free although I suppose in a sense you're in a prison of your own making by refusing to see or learn anything new.

Nothing is more devestating than suicide. It is the worst thing a person could do to himself & to everyone who ever knew & loved him....

Suicide. This loss in irreversible. It doesn't give you any possibility to change.

Second is refusing to learn. You are free from the constraints of the first two, however you still just sit on your butt watching the TV that is fed you and never improve yourself.

Being incarcerated for life is devastating, but could have the potential to be less of three evils. You can choose to improve yourself. You can choose to correct your wicked ways. You can choose to help others change that will not be incarcerated for life, possibly helping them do better once the get out.

Suicide, because it is final and permanent.

Even though incarceration in this example is for life, there is always the chance that your case will be overturned. Therefore, there is always hope.

Refusing to expand horizons doesn't mean that the person isn't satisfied with his current station in life. He may be perfectly content to remain as is.

Suicide is the biggest loss for family. Incarceration is the biggest loss for the self. Refusing to learn is the biggest loss for society.

I think the most devestating loss would would be the suicide option. While, the other options are detrimental to future possibilities, they still allow the option of change for the individual. Suicide is forever.

I think it would be more devastating for lose of future by refusing to learn because people have so many chooses in life and that is a choose they made and there is so many chances to learn in life and if you don't take them chances it is sad and hopeless

The first one. This one is irreversible. One could possibly get out jail by amnesty or some other way. One could change their mind about not learning anything new, possibly, their life might force them to learn too.

I would have to say suicide. Who knows what you may have to repent on the other side after killing yourself?

Life in jail would be a close 2nd though in this life.
