....in an attempt to cash in on the people who decide to stop smoking altogether after July 1st or will the ban have the adverse effect making the gum cheaper because more people would buy it?

That would be really rubbing salt in peoples wounds wouldn't it, all GP's have a smoking clinic so if they do go up it will be cheaper to go to the docs and get them on prescription.

yes i do think that people will try and cash in . the cost of these gums and patches is scandalous I bet the profit mark up is astronomical. i really do think more should be done by the government to get those prices down its just racketeering in my veiw

Who cares? Its cheaper to get it on prescription and let the NHS fund the bill than buying it yourself more people will probably do that.

funny you should say that in asda today they have dropped them from £15.00 to just £5.00 so they have not raised them yet. probably get you hooked on them THEN put price up lol
