Good question. I think you are correct. He lacks information, is not intellectually curious, as most who are close-minded and think they have all the answers usually are. He has been convinced that he is executing gods will, so is able to turn away from rational evidence to the contrary of his views. What are we, in the middle ages???????

IMHO he was way too nice personally to his opponents.

On tolerating opposing views, this is mandated by the First Amendment to the Constitution, and Bush takes the Constitution seriously. So he didn't at all fail to tolerate.

Check out what Saddam did to his enemies, if your stomach is strong enough for the gory details. Now THERE was a failure to tolerate.

How can it be, he doesn't even listen to opposing views. Sadly he has a history of failure. He failed Texas as governor leading the way to allow industry to pollute. He left the state almost bankrupt. His dealings with Arbusto which was his company and Harken Energy were both disastrous. He bilked the land from Houston for the ball park so it could find its way into private hands. Everything in his career was done with help from his father, everything. He is out of touch with reality, is pro-pro-business, doesn't care what he wrecks in the process of collecting money and is only following the lead of people like his father, Rumsfeld and V.P. Cheney. Should we really expect other than what we got?

Yes, his intolerance of opposing viewpoints is astounding. The political executions and incarcerations are happening at such an alarming rate, there is virtually no dissent anymore.

Oh wait, none of that has happened. In fact, his own party is disagreeing with him more than even the leftist nutcases.

Whoops, looks like you need a new question.

Sticking to your guns and intolerance are different. Bush has repeatedly called for compromise with the Dems, to no avail. Intolerance comes from both sides, but (in this forum, at least) the left seems to be the most intolerant of opposition. If you don't toe the line, you're either a bigot or a simpleton. There is no variance allowed. You either fall in with the progressive, Bush-hating mass, or you are a neo-con.

Compromise is important in a representative democracy such as ours.

Speaking of Bush, here are a few Bushisms I just found and thought they were funny. You all might enjoy them too:

"I know how hart it is for you to put food on your family." GWB Nashua, New Hampshire 1/27/2000

"For a century and a half now, America and Japan have formed one of the great and enduring alliances of modern times." Tokyo, Japan; 2/18/2002

I wonder if he knows what happend between December 7,1941 and August of 1945? The last I counted it was not a century and a half since August 1945.

That's only a small part of it...He failed cause he is an idiot. This is what you get when you elect a president that has no issues throwing the constitution out the window and will let his religious beliefs influence how he runs a country that has had separation of church and state in place for a really long time. He is a moron.

Also...reply to Vinny_says_relax
The only reason he won the White House a second time is because the number of uneducated, inbred, hee-hawing, bible-thumping knuckleheads in the red states far out number the educated, successful people in the blue states that actually have better things to do than shoot out bucketfuls of babies in between scratching themselves on the couch in front of the TV and drinking themselves into a stupor.

Tolerate opposing views? And since when does the man who wins the White House have any obligation to follow the opinions of the LOSERS from the LOSING party?

Perhaps not as much his failure to tolerate opposing views as much as his inability to UNDERSTAND different points of view. Any president, Democratic or Republican, needs to have a "best and brightest" (not "yes-people") staff and cabinet to handle the complexities of the office.

Conversely, this president appears to go to great lengths to surround himself with "like minds". Even if it means culling 150 of them from a tier 4 (lowest rung) institution of "higher learning" such as Pat Robertson's Regent University.

He fails because he is not a very good public speaker. Also, he has very little control over his emotions when he is worked up about something he thinks is important, so he comes across as someone who is intolerant.
