yes! I had a huge damaging virus. It works you have to download a lot of stuff you had on there before...or save it to a disc. Trust me it sounds time consuming but it works!

Hmmm not a good plan. Some virii actually replicate and increase with a system restore.

With system restore, not always, it depends on just how infected your pc is with viruses.
Try downloading a free online virus programs from cnet.com
http://www.cnet.com/4244-5_1-0.html?query=free+online+antivirus&tag=srch&target=nw
or try going to http://www.pcpitstop.com/
on your computer, and have it scan your pc for virus, etc..
