I dropped off my newly bought car for the dealer to apply tint. The next day which was yesterday I picked it up after work. When I got home I notice many bubbles in the tint, about 30 per window in the size of the thickness of a straw. I called them today and they told me to give it 3 days to let the sun dry it up. I'm not sure if it's because they didn't do a good job or what? But with my last car I never had to wait for the bubbles to dry, I didn't have any to start with and that was in winter.

I left the car out in the sun this morning and at 2pm the bubbles still there.

Should I give it a couple of days more or go back to the dealer right away? I never expect them to mess up such a basic job.

I left the car out in the sun on Friday and half day of Sat, there are still a lot of bubbles, about 30 on the driver side window, 15-20 in the front on the passenger side. Back side windows not as bad.

I'm planning on going back to the dealership on Monday, since they told me to give it 3 days for the bubbles to dry out.

My concern is, what if they ask me to give it more time by blaming on the humidity (we do have a lot of rain this year)?

If they redo it, how can I make sure they do a decent job this time? By talking to their supervisor? It's the same shop so there is always a possibility that they'll mess up again.

This sounds like they did not squeegee hard enough or they used the incorrect amount of water and soap . Bring it back immediately - -have your receipt and warranty!

From my experience with window tinting its normal..... These occur because there is moisture between the tint and window...Do Just as the dealer said... give the windows 3 days of sun and this will dry the moisture and the bubbles will disappear. Because the moisture is between the tint and window and not on the outside of the tint it takes more then a 1 day of sun for it to dry.

And then you can wait another 7 days, and then you can wait til next week.

They did not do a good job on the installation. Make them fix it. There should not be any bubbles in the tint, if they did it right. It is not going to fix itself, no matter what they tell you. Don't let them keep putting you off. If you do, then they hope you'll get tired and stop bugging them about it.

Go get them.

these bubbles as you call them are actually called fingers. i would take it back and have them correct the problem. when tint is installed they use a soap and water mixture to allow the installer to move the film around on the window to get it where it needs to be. it does take a few days for the tint to fully drain of this mixture, but the tinters usually get the fingers laid down to where any fingers are going to be very small, and at the very edges where they will lay down fully by themselves. if the fingers are as large as you say they are, then the tinter didnt do his job properly. some rear windows are tough to do because of their shape, but with tinters being ablt to shrink the film to fit, you still shouldnt have the problem.

take it back now as the bubbles will never come out if they didn't get them out in the beginning, tinting is not just an easy job, it's very time consuming and you need a lot of patience.
