I don't get to see my doctor until the 9th. And I don't have any family doctors. I just got DSHS. I spoke the a pharmasist and they told me that i can't take any type of medicine but I feel like crap. My nose and lungs are completly congested. I usually end up in the emergency room with bronchitis when I get sick. What can I do and me being sick does that effect the baby at all?

Call your doctors office and explain what is going on. They may be able to see you sooner if not and you start feeling worse or can't deal with it any longer go to the emergency room. DO NOT TAKE ANY MEDICATION WITHOUT TALKING TO YOUR OB FIRST!!!

Unfortunitly you can't take anything because it can all pass the uturus and go into the babys blood stream. You cannot take sudafed and benedryl.. call the hospital and ask if there is someone there you can ask for their opinion. It SUCKS being sick when your pregnant I know.. I had 2 horrible colds before i was even 6 months with my son but you just have to stick it out.. as long as you dont have a fever and remember to drink LOTS of fluids for the baby! Feel better!

1] Tylenol is allowed during pregnancy,
2] so is Sudafed, and Actifed [ but not while breastfeeding ]
3] use a non-medicated cough drop if necessary
A] drink LOTS of fluids - enough that you have to pee every three hours! [ helps flush out germs by liquifying mucus ]
B] get a humidifier if you can
C] eat hot or a little spicy foods - salsa, horseradish, spicy soup to loosen up some mucus
D] if you get worse or run a fever, Call The Doctor!
As long as you eat reasonably well, and don't run a fever, the baby should be great!

Buy a warm mist humidifier.I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to add like a teaspoon of liquid Vick's to it.There like $ 20.00 at wal-mart.Call your Dr or Pharmacy and ask about rubbing a bit of Vick's' on your chest and under your Nose.I don't see that harming the Baby at all.Elevate your Head while sleeping ,Put a pillow under your mattress. If you have a sore throat gargle in warm salt water, just don't swallow it.

i dont know about your Dr, my Dr's office has a nurse that can always answer questions about what I could or couldnt take, if not they would ask the Dr and call back, I would def call the Dr and figure it out. You dont want to be miserable, As far as the sickness, its sounds like pregnancy, I dont know what all you have or whatever but just call your Dr

Well Tylenol and plain Sudafed is what my doctor told me to take when I got sick... And try steaming with Vicks Vaporub and chamomille that will open up your lungs and relax you... Helped me... Wish you the best

If you're suffering from a cold, dont take anything. You dont need it. You will get over it on your own. I know it's miserable. But you dont need to put medication in your body for a cold/cough.

If you end up in the ER for anything, they will provide proper treatment safe for you and your baby.

If it's really really bad, go in to see the doctor. They will give you something safe ONLY if its necessary.

Call you OB and tell her/him how you are feeling. You will be able to get something. It's so hard when you get sick while pregnant. Try home remedies like steam showers, OJ, LOTS of water.

Good luck, I feel for you. Remember you will get better.
