I had just turned 20, and he was 27. We eloped to Vegas after only dating for two months on Friday the 13th. We actually married at one of those drive-thru wedding chapels so it was just the two of us. We did have a small reception when we got back so that we could celebrate with our friends and family (probably 75 people). We have been happily married for ten years and have 3 children.

Hi,
I got married at 30 my wife was 21.
We had a white wedding in a nice church.
There were about 60 relatives at the wedding.
The reception was at a country club in the evening we invited work colleagues and other friends.
My wife ordered a kiss o gram for me, which surprised everyone.
After 9pm the club was open to the public and we had the one half of the ballroom separated off for our party.
There was a band then a comedian the a disco.
We laid on an big buffet for the evening guests.
There were coaches for the relatives, and a brilliant time was had by all.
All the better because my Dad footed the bill, approx £1800 20 years ago.

My husband was 22 and I was 20. Was a good thing for us but I would never recommend it for anyone else. My home life was very abusive (2 alcholic parents that took all my money that I earned working 2 jobs.) I feel like my husband saved me from that. 13 years later I am amazed at how strong our marriage is considering how young we were but I think the relationship we share is special. We are soulmates. We got married at the justice of the peace and had about 25 people at the reception. I was never into the huge marriage thing.

I was 19 and he had just turned 20, and been married for 3 years but together for 6. And it was a small deal with about 8 people, but in the future we are wanting to be blessed in some place like the maldives and then come home and have a proper celebration with all our family and friends.
But we were brought up in a culture / religion where people generally do get married around this age so to us it wasn't young, but I do think I would try and prevent our kids (if we have them) to hold off at that age, the struggles are harder when life experience is limited.
Why'd you ask??

I was 30 and he was 28. We tried to arrange the big wedding b/s. soon, I learned it was too stressful and not mention expensive. Instead we got married by the justice of the peace only our family was invited. We have been married 6 years now. Not once have we ever regret it our decission. Instead of spending our money in a big lavish wedding. We bought our home. We have 2 kids now, we have since invested the wedding money in preparation for the kids' college funds. Furthermore, with out the stressors of debt , I have been able to be a stay at home mother. We live very modestly, but oh !so happy. Enjoying our family. If you are embarking on this thing called marriage, that's my advice. Do not fall victim to the present trend of consumerism and oversending. Marriages quikly dissolve bacause of money..

I was 18, he was 19. (I wished I waited) We got married away from my home town and it was last minute so I had no friends or family there and only my "new" mother in law friends came .. It Sucked. I was divorced 8 years later, been 17 years ago. Never married again, at least not yet .... My next one will be very different, when ever that happens.....
