For the next 5 days, carry a small notepad and write down everything you use where you live now, that you won't be taking with you. This includes bathroom needs and even spices or condiments you use. Sit down and think about your new freedom and what you plan to do in your new space. Jot down the things needed to do these.

Don't forget some grocery basics: rice, pasta, tomato sauce, soups, cooking oil, margarine, seasonings, etc.
These, and a few fresh meats and veggies can be the basis for lots of yummy dishes.
