Wow! what a opportunity that would be, to look from, to feel from and the most attractive, to understand from their point of soul.
This sort of understanding of a soul mate is not gross in the least bit, it would be the next step after making the most blissful love. That is something to be desired, I look forward to getting there.

Ha ha yourself. I try to always look at your questions!
This is really fascinating. When I'd just met my very only true love, we'd wandered some distance from each other on the beach in Carmel, & both turned at the same moment. Walking toward each other, there was no distance at all. Well after dusk, the fog & surf were silver-grey. When I closed my eyes, we were "one"--the center of the universe, & I could hear the surf ALL AROUND US, (although of course it wasn't). Part of what fascinated me about you question was the comment that followed: "I have this feeling that I'm not sure if I'm kissing you, or you're kissing me, or if I'm kissing myself." Think about it... Sometime later we had one of many spiritual & philospohical dialogues about whether there was any difference between devouring or being devoured. We came to the conclusion that there wasn't. "Devour" in the way that you express it--stepping inside, (or would they also be stepping inside you? Or both at once)? I'd never have dreamed of "merging" with anyone that way, we knew each other's spirits on every level. The most beautiful "human to human" experience I've ever had, or will ever have. This I KNOW. Even in death, it remains.

Some people say that is what sex is, the desire to be inside another or have them inside you.
Some of those instincts and desires may be incorporated into the reproductive urges. Most animals do not as a rule have sex for pleasure so this desire would have to be limited to us and the Dolphins.
I think some of the really weird cults have tried to include that kind of experience in their blood drinking or flesh eating rituals. Not so strange to think of is the Catholic symbolic idea of taking communion.
I think after we expire we do join with nature , at least physically, organically and in that way become intimate with another being or other beings.
The soul is something else again. It must first exist for it to be absorbed into anything or anyone, so joining or entering an others soul would be a problem for me. I am, I believe soulless. But, I do not think this idea is gross or unusual at all.
I think it may be very normal to want the ability to join that closely. with another Think about the very powerful desire in the world for finding your soul mate. It is a romantic idea that may have only romanticism as a base.
People who have suicide pacts are trying to facilitate that experience but be we will never know if it works so for those who do or have done its an act of faith. very interesting question. .I will be thinking about this for a while.

No, I have not personally desired that. Though I have desired close intimacy with women before. I don't think it's gross as much as it seems a poetic expression of how much you desire to be with this person.
No, it would not frighten me so long as it was an experience inside the normal parameters of human experience and not the result of psychosis or some other dissociative condition.

Good question.
I know what you mean: like a total mind/body/soul merger. Ultimate connection... to the point of being uncertain as to what is oneself and other.
That being said... this is not something I have ever wanted because total immersion is too much. Intersecting consciousness to the point of shared overlapping space (like a Venn diagram): yes, but not total overlap or submersion.
I'm not sure if it's because I have not met "that person", or am not that self-sacrificing, or maybe because it's not a good idea to lose onself in another.
Thanks for the thought provocation!

I think I know what you're saying. More of a spiritual perspective than a physical. So no, I don't think it's too gross at all. But I have to admit to you, the experience sounds a little too scary for me. Because as much as I want to be that close to someone, a person's soul is his/her own property, something around which he/she constructs his/her identity. If I were to step into someone else's soul (and if that were to happen, maybe it would be my boyfriend's, ha ha), I don't know if it would now be me... or him... I'd definitely rather it be him.
It's an interesting thought, though!

Yes but here I do not mean the physical body, the organs and the structures inside the body; it is another plane; more of an emotional, spiritual, scientific molecules sort of thing.

HAHAHA wow Soul that is deep to be honest I have never imagined this and I have liked guys and wanted to know everything about their souls wow, I have to tell this one to my friends and see what they would say haha....I guess to feel this way about another you would have to have a strong connection to them and deep too.I had liked someone that I met a year ago and I found out many things we never dated but I wanted to find out about his soul and boy did I find out many things and than I did not like his soul anymore so again I think you have to really feel a good connection with another to experience what you say and I truly believe there has to be love that grows over time both ways for both your souls:))) Thanks I look at it in a whole new way my friend :)))) Have a beautiful weekend :))

Everytime we read a biography or converse with someone exposes some parts of their soul, we come closer and closer to that experience. We are a collaboration of all five sense collecting and filtering and testing to see what suite us but no experience can truly give you the soul of another unless they pour it in you but you will still react off of your own thoughts and experiences.

It doesn't matter if it scares people or if they are not ready, it is intended to happen and will. All souls will be force-merged into one at the convergence. The meat will have already passed either through natural or artificial means (which is natural in a sense).
