Someone put gas in my riding lawn mower where oil goes. I have taken the oil filter off but the oil will not drain out. It is a murray ohv/42 and not sure how old it is. Is there another way to drain the oil and should that fix it or is it broke for good?

After you find the oil drain plug and drain the gas out of the system, make sure you kick the person's butt who did such a dumb thing.

Most riding mowers have an oil drain plug. Has nothing to do with the filter. The plug will be at the lowest part of the engine. Mine is at the bottom of the oil fill tube.

There should be a drain plug on the bottom of the engine.
If you did not run the engine with the gas in the oil, you should be fine. If you did run the engine with the gas in the oil, the amount of damage done will depend on how long you ran it for.

If you didn't run it with gas in the crankcase you are OK. There has to be a drain plug on or near the bottom of the engine. Leave the plug out and the filler cap off for part of a day to allow the gas that won't drain to evaporate. You can cover the openings with a cloth if you are in a not so clean environment.

Let's back up here a minute. Someone put gas in your oil? Who would do that? I have had mowers for years and no has even put oil in them but me much less gas in the oil. Are you sure that the float in the carburator didn't stick and let gas run into the engine? I would suspect that before I would believe that someone is walking around out there putting gas in peoples oil.
