He deserves to go in like late 1st round/early 2nd round...he's not a top 10 pick

Dude is a horrible shooter...his mechanics are sooo messed up

Yes he can rebound and really hustle...but seriously doesn't chicago have enough of those guys? They already have Tyrus who is a carbon copy of Noah

Well noah is a better passer but that is it...iono if he'll fit well in chicago or any team for that matter

He is like a deep end of the bench kinda guy like a Dan Gadzuric or Reggie Evans or DJ Mbenga.

Noah is not a good rebounder.. In florida Al Horford did all the dirty work for him...with Horford underneath muscling players and boxing them out, Noah got easy rebounding opportunities...he's not gonna get that often in Chicago unless you expect him to play alongside Ben Wallace at the same time on the court...which if it happens will have 2 poor offensive players in chicago who can't shoot to save their lives on the court
Bad pick by chicago..total waste

He went up against college aged kids in florida in a favorable system surrounded by talented players...he'll get exposed in Chicago...just watch

I am a huge bulls fan, and you are absolutely correct.

We have 4 other guys that are good defenders, rebounders, and hustle guys.

We have big ben, tyrus, pj brown(garbage), and Sweetney(garbage) we don't need to add this bum Noah. I would have prefered we trade down and take JUlian Wright if we had to take a guy that couldn't shoot. Noah sucks, he is a tall player without any offensive game this does nothing to help our undersized guards.

In a vacuum, the Noah pick clearly was the Bulls taking the player who they thought would best fit in their current system. Certainly, many people will say they need a scorer in the post, but that choice just was not going to happen at No. 9. I pretty much viewed everyone at No. 9 as athletic defensively oriented power forwards - like Noah - or the great white hope centers - like Hawes. Neither type will fulfill the Bulls need for a post scorer.

And given the Bulls system, I'm not sure that anyone can come in and be a big scorer in the post. Curry and Chandler had big jumps in their scoring averages when they left the Bulls; it seems to me that the Bull's system is not conducive to post scoring. And if the system is weighted against post scoring, you might as well take the most defensively gifted post guy available instead; if he averages 10 points, the Bulls will be happy.

And the second round pick of Aaron Gray makes the Bulls pick of Noah make more sense than if they had taken Hawes: Gray and Hawes, two great white hope centers, would be a waste, while Noah and Gray gives the Bulls two post players with completely different games. Perhaps the Bulls were hoping that Gray would fall all the way to 49 so they could draft the diverse set of posts. Gray backing up Wallace is such a change that it just might work: Gray, although a horrible athlete, has the traditional center's tools on offense. If the Bulls can get 18 points a game out of the two backup posts in Noah and Gray, they'll be estatic.

Joakim Noah is not overrated. Nobody is saying that he's a great shooter...everyone knows his mechanics are that of a 4th grader. People value Noah because of his hustling, rebounding (Horford had 9.5 a game, Noah had 8.4...not that much of a difference), and defense. The Bulls didn't draft him to fill in their much-needed post scoring, they drafted him because he was the best fit with them. Comparing him to Tyrus Thomas is a bit of a stretch...Noah is a post player who can guard a 4 or 5, Thomas is a leaping wingman who guards a 3 or 4. You can never have too much hustle on a team, so why wouldn't the Bulls take him? If they take Spencer Hawes, they need to wait 3-5 years for him to develop his game and get used to the NBA. Hawes has only played one year in college, and not in many big-time games. Noah is an experienced player who is coming off back-to-back NCAA championships. The Bulls need someone who can contribute something now...Hawes is a project, Noah will provide energy and spark off the bench. Chicago will look for a scoring big man through free-agency, and even if they don't get one, will have a better year with Noah than they would with Hawes riding the bench.

How is it that a that a guy who dominates in no facet of the game is considered a great player. It goes to show you that the draft is in some cases nothing but a hype machine."But he plays with tremendous energy..." WHO CARES!!! It's easy to play with energy when you're only playing 30+ games and you have AL Horford who does all the real big man work. Do you really think Joakim can do that for 82+ games? Also, there are point guards that outweigh Joakim Noah, and I don't care how much energy have, if you only weigh 200 pounds and are 7 feet tall, you are going to struggle. Yao ming weighs 300+ pounds and he still gets pushed around, need I say more!!! Joakim Noah will be the biggest bust in this draft, not so much because of what he does. He's good at...umm...mmm... whatever it is he does. But he'll be a bust because he has no more talent than a second round pick, at that. I only say that because when you look at the power fowards taken in the second round he doesn't compare to them as far as talent. Glen Davis, Josh McRoberts, Nick Fazeikas, all far more talented than Joakim Noah, but not products of hype.

Dude I can't agree with you more. First off, I understand Noah is a really energetic guy and he can run the floor and rebound... so what? Look at Chicago, they have Thomas and Wallace. Both great at grabbing rebounds, playing defense, and hustling. But what Bulls needs most right now is a dominant low post scorer, and that's not Noah. Has anyone seen him shoot? I'll bet he doesn't average more than 10 pts in the NBA. Now I know there weren't many dominant big men left in the draft, but Paxson needs to trade Noah for a big man, because Noah is not gonna get the job done. Also, let's just forget Noah's dress attire during Draft night.

I guess this is the New NBA where people want 6'10 inch players and taller to be able to shot jumpshots, and play on the peremiter. Why? None of those types of players will ever win a championship..............ever!

I disagree for one reason, even though he is a throwback player in the mode of a Kurt Rambis, or Dennis Rodman type.

Noah is an verbal, emotional leader, and proven winner. Those are traits that dont necesarilly come along with a high draft choice that has a nice post game or perimiter shot. Ask Dirk about that!

Pairing a post player like Noah with Wallace is exactly what good post players dont want to see when they are coming down on offense, 2 strong defensive players that will stop you at all cost! Without trying to look flashy doing it, or putting forth a lackluster effort at best. As for him needing Al Horford, thats how teams opperate. One player does one thing and his teammate does something else to compliment him, Noah did just as much muscling for Horford.

not so bad, though all the objections are true, he is almost a sure thing because of hustle, and determination. not that he will be a star, but he will find a home somewhere in the nba as an excellent backup or a starter alongside an excellent frontcourt partner. as the 14th pick that is not bad most years. of course this is a very deep draft and a number of players drafted after him could prove to be better picks most have a downside as well, very few players in this draft are as certain to pan out as well as noah. almost a sure thing to be an excellent role player but never a star. bulls do need better than that in the post but you could do far worse.

Amen!! I believe that he was the worst pick in the draft. I couldn't believe that Chicago picked him with the 14th pick.

Noah is average at best. He has no Jump Shot and his low post moves are suspect. He was the poster boy of college hoops because he played on a great team with an awesome cast. I look for him to be exposed. The best thing he can hope to accomplish is to be the next Dennis Rodman

I totally agree. I'm a Kings fan and I was relieved when Chicago took him at 9 (although I don't think Hawes is a great fit for us right now, I'd take him over Noah any day). He's never going to be a star in the NBA - yes, he has super human endurance and can handle the ball, but his shot sucks, his timing's bad, his post skills are lacking, and he'll never be strong enough.

I agree strongly. His rebounding is not going to keep on the NBA degree. He is just too vulnerable bodily. I do not see him as a carbon replica of Tyrus (insert carbon/black funny story right here) as Tyrus is way more potent and extra agile. Frankly, I consider of Noah as a girlyguy. He appears like a lady, runs like a lady, units displays like a lady, and shoots like a lady. I do wish he a ways exceeds my expectancies of him as an NBA participant, regardless that, for his enthusiasm is a infrequent and endearing factor certainly. EDIT: I bet I comprehend the reasoning. Paxson loves to draft men from successful systems. Noah absolutely fills that invoice.
