They don't eat them. They tie them to the forks missing from your underwear drawer and carry them as banners against the gnomes under the kitchen sink. (How did you think that stuff gets spilled under there?) They earn whatever you didn't take out of your pockets before you did laundry, and they drink laundry detergent by the cupful. The fringe benefit is learning new words when you can't find the sock.

Gnomes don't steal...they are beneficial caretakers of the wild they fix things.gremlins break stuff,sprites hide things, and trolls steal...
snarks poison food,boughies and wil'owisps lead you astray,fairies and kinderlings show you the way...
