I found it to be a great book, but it was very touching, and it depends how you take that. He was mistreated by his mother in very cruel ways. She'd stick his hands in the oven, or have him drink spoonfuls of ammonia.. and once she stabbed him and then left him to sleep in the garage under cold temperatures. But it's great to see how he makes it through, and its even better to see how someone who was so mistreated could be such a great father now (next book). Overall, I highly recommend it.

The book is amazing because it is a true story. He went through so much as a child. That is what makes it good yet horrifying. Out of the 3 he wrote, that is the best.

A very good biography of a man that was so abused by his mother...He has another sequel out of this book and has been on several talk shows...still attempting to realize that he is worth something in this world...a very touching book but also disturbing......

Definitely a good book, but it's so sad. My heart went out to him when I read it. It might be a good idea to keep the tissues handy if you tear up easily.

it depends on whether or not you get upset easily.
It is a true story. and I don't like to hear of kid's being harmed
