I remember seeing an interview during episode 3 where Lucas stated that he has spent most of his life working on Star Wars and that he would not be making another set of movies. He went on to say that if you wanted to chapters 7-9 to read the Zahn trilogy. When asked if he would allow others to continue it his only reply was a sly smile seeming to indicate that he would have to trust someone a whole lot.

Of course George is always changing his mind on things. Look IJ4. He said he wasn't doing it for many years. He also said that the theatrical cuts of 4-6 would no longer be available after the SEs were released. You can now get them on DVD.

Even with the cheesy ending of the Zahn books I would still love to see them made into moves by a skilled writer/director.

I would like to see it happen. As many Star Wars fans as there are, I doubt he will stay away from this possibility for very long. Aren't there more stories involving Luke's offspring, etc.? I know there have been some Dark Horse comic books and paperback books involving Luke's and Han Solo's offspring. It would be interesting. If George Lucas doesn't do a movie, perhaps his daughter might?

The tv shows will have NO impact on whether or not more movies are made. There is already no doubt that more movies would make money. TV shows are not necessary for that. Lucas will do it if he wants to, and if he doesn't want to, he won't. That will be the only deciding factor.

Absolutely not.

The story told in the movies was over when Anakin redeemed himself, and then transformed into the Force (died).

The only thing he could do is make "tweener" movies for events between the current films. He kind of closed that door, though, by his numbering of the films. What's he going to do? Episode VI and a half? Anyway, I don't know that additional films could further advance the character of Anakin/Darth Vader.

I've heard from buddy's who are huge Star Wars fans. And I've heard on TV and read it on-line somewhere. There is suppose to be a total of 9 movies made. If/when I don't know.

I wish they would, but I've been reading the bi-monthly Star Wars magazine, they address these questions all the time, and they are saying not to count on it. It would be great if they did though.
