They're still showing my next door neighbor as a vacant lot when in fact it now supports a duplex rental unit. I live in N. Illinois.

They keep that info confidential, because they don't want people doing things just so it gets in the picture.

It depends on the area. If you zoom out, youll see strips of slightly differant colors taken at differant times. My city has pictures from 4 differant years. Eventually, your area will get passed by a sattalite for a survery and it will update.

I believe those aerial photographs are taken by the U.S. Geological Society. They do it every so many years (not sure of the exact number). So, I don't think that it is up to Google to take the pictures.

They are updating all the time, but there is an unbelievable amount of data and it only comes in at a certain rate.

According to how long ago the duplex was built... Google has updated their pics this year already...
