Promises are as easily broken as iPod headphones. You have to PROVE by your actions to your dad that you will be more careful.
First, do some research, and find some online articles (not personal opinion on blogs, but actual consumer research like Best Buy or Consumer Reports or Epinions) that prove that Ipod headphones do break easily.
Also, you need to find the same research proving that another brand/model of headphones is much sturdier. Then show all this research to your dad and offer to buy the new, sturdier headphones with your own money. Ask if he will return the Ipod to you once you have the new headphones. Offer other compromises, like promising you will keep the headphones in a case when not wearing them, you won't wear them to bed, etc.
Do NOT try to look for it or steal it back - what good will that do? He will notice that it's missing and notice you using it, and you'll get in trouble again for trying to get out of trouble!

Do you have any pets? Maybe your dog was playing with it under the bed while you was sleep. Or maybe you dad just wants to find a reason to take your ipod so he could use it. He probaly lied about it being broke. Trust me, electronics like ipods are addictive. You aren't ever getting it back from your dad. Your best bet is to find it.

Stab him in his sleep......
You sound like a spoiled brat. "My dad took my IPod away to teach me a lesson."
You had a $200 piece of electronics under your bed on the floor with a broken headphone. Regardless how cheap the headphones are you put the thing on the floor. Are you insane?
Grow up. My father would have beat me into a pulp if I put treated something he bought me for that amount of money like that. If it was so important to you, you should have treated well and put it someplace safe when you were through.

he can hide it anywhere...
it may be inside his locker, under his bed (i dt think he will keep an ipod there),in his car,in his bag,or he can keep it under ur mom's care..go nd ask mom...
or else another thing can work...don't look for it...behave as everything is fine..if possible listen to music from other things like walkman or that kind of stuff...
else be a little saddy..dont talk much in front of ur dad..take care of things more than ever...
best of luck

My advice, listen to your dad. He is somewhat frustrated with you which is why he hid your iPod.
I would do chores, help with stuff around the house, things like that. You have to be proactive about lending your help to your parents. It shows that you have responsibility. Do that for a couple of weeks and then bring it up casually.

If he bought it then I suggest you wait it out. If you find it and take it from the place it is hidden then he will be even angrier. I would give it a bit and ask again.

Huh? That doesn't make sense-He doesn't want you to break it, so he takes it away for ever??? LoL It's probably in his room or at work. Maybe in his car? Good luck.
