They could lose their liquor license, be fined, and could even have the property confiscated. Eek! I've posted a link that has all the applicable laws/penalties for this.

The cop writes a citation which orders the bartender to appear in court. The judge fines the bartender. In California, the fine is $1000.00. The bar owner gets fined too which will probably result in the bartender getting fired! The state may shut the bar down. There have been several bars in our which this has happened to.

The bar likely will have to pay a hefty fine to the state and could lose the privilege of selling alcohol. The bartender pays a fine from the state as well and likely loses his/her job. This is also true if the bartender does not know the real age of the person he/she served.

The underage person is arrested and the bartender denies knowing anything and at worst gets a fine as does the bar and maybe gets fired.

Both you and the bartender should be cited with the appropriate ordinance(s) and State violations. The local liquor commission will decide the fate of the bar owner's liquor license and impose additional fines if appropriate.

Bartender loses liquor service license (OLCC) + other possible penalties. Also, the bar has to pay a fine or lose their license, and their premiums may increase.
