I just check perishables (eggs, milk, bread, etc.)
However it's really good to check everything like you do, I just don't have the time.
I once bought a box of angel food cake once that was over 1 year expired,.

yeah and they always hide the foods with the later expiration dates on the back of the shelf.

If the maggots haven't started nawing on it, it's still good in my book.
If I can smell it and not gag, I will drink it.
Bread and Cheese, if it's not green, it's clean.
Expiration dates, always 2-weeks to early

i always forget and then my mom asks and i always say "we'll mosty likely finish it before it expires anyways." but i'll probably start checking when i'm food shopping on my own and stuff. haha.
