yes and ill tell you why. jrich makes 12 million a year. jrich is a nice player but he isnt a franchise type guy and 12 mill is too much for a guy like jrich who cant pass well, dribble well, or shoot FTs well. so we cleared up a lot of cap space to re-sign ellis and biedrins, mullin and nelson were thinking about the future. no way we are letting monta or andris walk away from us. wright was the 3rd or 4th best player in the draft and has too much potential. he has been compared to chris bosh and even if he isnt bosh, wright can rebound and run and block shots. thats what we(warriors) needed as you all saw in the playoffs the jazz killed us on the boards.
this was good for both teams. cats got a really talented player back and the warriors cut back on salary and get a talented player in return.

Trading a proven player for a rookie, in my opinion is a bad deal. Don Nelson probaly isn't going to be a round long enough to develop Wright anyway. The Warriors just wanted to make sure they get a lottery pick next year.

Brandon Wright is a very talented player, dont getr me wrong J. Rich is a "good" player, but if you're building a team up for the future, If I was the GM I would of kept Wright. I think that was a stupid trade that made no sense, no offense MJ.

I think it was a great trade for a number of reasons. First of all, they got rid of their biggest contract which means when they have to re-sign Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins they will have the money. Secondly, it opens up playing time at the shooting guard and small forward positions where they are already over stocked. And lastly, Brandan Wright gives them a power forward who is better offensively than Biedrins, and he can rebound, which Al Harrington cannot. With his athleticism and rebounding ability he should be a perfect fit for the fast-paced style the Warriors play.

good trade for warriors, although i hate seeing j-rich leave. as for wright, i think he'll make an impact for warriors because he's extremely talented and more importantly with the warriors style of play, he should feel a lot more comfortable in his transition to pros. wright is more polished offensively than biedrens and is probably just as good defensively already. finally with b.d. at point, wright will probably will have a shorter learning curve.

Yes. If you watched the draft, many of the commentators like Jay Bilas were saying it was a very terrible move for the Bobcats. You hsould be happy that your Warriors got Wright.

unless brandon wright becomes a great player no way and I would have waited a season to see how he progressed before making that trade.

Its not a good move for the warriors because the their lineup is not as quick anymore. The way the play 'small' ball is what got them into the playoffs and is what got them through Dallas.

wright will likely become the perfect power forward for the nelson system, the question is when will he develop it could take a few years. overall though even if it takes time a good deal for GS.
