Look at Hillary's pro Iraq, anti Iraq stance. She even said until her numbers started to drop that she stands by her original thought on the matter.

Obama used to admit he was half white and half black. Now he just wants to be black.

Edwards I'm not even going to touch that with a 10 foot pole.

Why do so many liberals flipflop while conservatives stay steady and true?

Do liberals even know what they stand for themselves?

How about changing the reasons for going to war for flip-flopping?
I distinctly remember rumblings about weapons of mass destruction (which the west incidentally knew were at their optimum level a long time time before the war (we actually provided Iraq with a lot of weapons and materials - try to find some impartial history books)) when the war started, but when they couldn't be found, then magically, the reason morphed into freeing those poor Iraqi people from their oppressor, because it had long been a reason for invasion by us - just look at our weapons and materials supplies list.
I don't necessarily count myself as a liberal but I count myself as being for more honesty and accountability in government.
Given that the USA and the UK are meant to be exemplars of the democratic method, we have been a right bunch of saps.
And please, for the sake of proper debate, learn to differentiate between those who disagree with you - they don't all think the same way.
Anyway, the retrospective changing of the reasons for going to war is disingenuous and smacks deeply of the British government's actions in the Suez crisis - and of course, 1984 by George Orwell. Please read it - nobody's suggesting it's come true in its entirety but it raises many issues that need to be considered.
By the way, changing your position in itself neither renders your new or your old position untruthful.

Almost all politicians flip flop on issues. They need to get elected, and they will say whatever it takes.

But you're absolutely right, liberal Democrats seem to take it to an art form, while conservative Republicans botch it up because they're largely incompetent as liars and get flabbergasted when they are caught. Meanwhile, Democrats proudly insist you must be confused or misinformed when you catch them lying, and the media marvels at how they turned it around and made it your fault!

The bottom line is, anyone who believes a single word that a politician tells them as truth is only deceiving themselves.

The only politicians who are honest, trustworthy, and truly looking out for the best interests of the public, are those who can't get elected to begin with!

Liberals. Conservatives. They're both of the same ilk. They 'flip-flop' because they have no core beliefs; they will say whatever they have to say to get elected, and then renege on whatever promises they made once they're in office.
WHY are the liberal and conservative forces in Congress now trying to wangle a $4,400.00 pay increase for themselves? Because they've done such a great job? Because they've kept the promises they made to their constituents? Because their job performance is so impeccable?
NO! They want the raise because they're greedy, corrupt, arrogant, immoral conservatives and liberals. -RKO- 06/29/07

Shrillery has to wait for the latest opinion polls to come out so she can make her policy statement. She will address this issue as soon as you let her know which stance will get her the most votes at the moment.

so george bush didn't flip flop on S Husseins' involvement in 911? should he not have flip flopped? why is flip flopping bad? one shouldn't change their mind upon reflection or receiving new information? you should think about these things before you just repeat some weak talking point that you heard. otherwise you could end up looking like an idiot.

This is the only way to get elected. People say they want a straight shooter but they really don't. They want to be pandered too. Which is exactly what a good politician does. If people didn't really want flip flopping it wouldn't happen.

It's what happens when you live your political life according to what the polls of the moment are. Libs think the general public is too stupid to remember what they say from one week to the next. So the libs are willing to let pollsters run our country.

Conservatives?

Steady and true?

Please. Mitt Romney, John McCain, and Rudy Giuliani are "steady and true"?

You mean like Guliani, Thompson, and Romney all changing their stances on abortion? Your Obama statement is just silly...who gives a crap what color he is? I don't. I'm pretty sure Edwards wouldn't touch you with a ten foot pole either.
