You could get more female Betta's at least 4-5 more. They will get along fine once they establish a pecking order. Also corydoras are cute and will keep the bottom of the tank clean. I have swordtails, neon tetras, dwarf rainbows, and platies with my females. Remember to purchase a heater. Betta's are tropical fish that thrive best in water that is between 76-82 F. Also make sure to keep a eye on the ammonia levels in your tank since it is new. Jon V or copperhead can tell you more about cycling a new tank.

I also have a 10 gallon tank that I bought about 3 weeks ago. Its doing great. My first fish was also a Betta, but I put 2 other species in with it. You can put cory cats and neon tetras in with your betta and they will do just fine. I have 3 cory cats and 5 neone tetras. You might want to consider a heater and an aquarium hood with a light. Maintaining the aquarium is very easy. Do a 25% water change (in your case it would be about 2 and a half gallons) weekly. Then at the end of the month filter your gravel. Your fish and aquarium will be very easy to keep up with if you do that. Hope I helped!

You could put a few types of diffrent fish in with her, Heres some i have in with my 2 :
Neon tetra
Guppys
platies
mollies
corycats
other females (just not males)
A pleco would not be good in a 10 gallon so dont go for one of those they get 1 ft
and there are plenty more, Just remember to cycle your tank properly and not overstock it.

First of all, do not start your tank off with a Betta. She will die because the new tank cycle is too stressful for her. First, buy a couple of female platys and leave them in there until your nitrates/ammonia/PH levels ETC have balanced out. If you need anymore information on this, google "New tank syndrome."
Why in the world do I have a thumbs down for this? I'm trying to help her start her tank right so she doesn't lose all her fish in a month from ammonia poisoning.

Do you have a heater? Go get a heater, add 7+ Neon Tetras after a week, and then, 3 days after adding the Tetras, add 3 Corry Catfish. Good luck! They will look great! But you really do need the heater.

You can put other fish with bettas, just NEVER EVER put in any kind of goldfish, or any fish with a fancy tail or anything colorful about them.
You can put in a plecostamus, they get along with anything, and keep your tank clean.
However, I prefer to keep bettas in fish bowls with nothing else, because they feel threatened by anything else that's fancy, especially other bettas, and will fight to the death.
So basically, bettas think they have to be the only fancy fish in the tank.

I have had my male beta for 11 month's and in the whole time i have had him he is in a tank with, molly's, neon tetra's, guppy's, a fan tail gold fish, a irid shark, 2 head light tail light's..and other's..There is no right answer to this because it depends on your beta fish, my mother had one that killed her guppy's but got along with her gold fish, now mine get's along with anyone i have in my tank but i did have to take out my male tiger barb because the barb was nipping on my beta's fin's and tail's.. You will have to buy a different fish and test it with your beta as i had to.. Just watch your beta fish for i have noticed that when they are unhappy or start getting aggressive they will stock certain fish in your tank and they will start nipping, you will also notice that the beta will be less motivated and will sit in one spot for a long time without little movement, usarally that mean's they are unhappy..
