I think if you ask for people's opinions, you get a lot more answers.

As you might already have known that there are other factor involved determining the number of responses you attract after each question: for instance, the number of people present at the time you posted your question, the contents of your question and the way you phrased it into an thought provoking inquiry. I personally would like to answer a question that is clearly stated, without any spelling errors or spelling contortions - like words made with the inclusion of digits, is not an answer to itself, or does not contain the answer in the details - as I then have to tell the person asking that you know the answer already, but ...., which always means contradiction of opinion right from the outset. I like to answer questions that would allow me to thinking openly, imagine wildly and respond enthusiastically. It is as if I accept the question to be mine, answer a pure personal thought.
As a matter of fact I like when I have a maximum of twenty answers to my question, as it then is easier for me to read them all carefully and choose the best one in; if there are more than thirty, or forty responses I admit that it becomes flattering but I find very hard to read them all. Good luck with yours!

Ask something controversial, especially in Religion & Spirituality. You'll get LOADS of answers. Also, not finishing your question makes people curious. Make them click on the link (like you did with this one). They're more likely to answer once they're on your page. :)

Not many people answer in philosophy.
Questions that get a lot of answers involve the afterlife, what makes people happy, and stupid things that everyone might feel like answering.

actually having a good question. no offense but some of your questions are a little confusing, if you explain them well and have a good question in the first place then you'll be a tad bit more successful. ;)

ask an uncomplicated question that requires an opinion, like "whats your favorite color?", or "are you for or against abortion?". Asking a complex question (like your one about voodoo and boobs) or one with a definite answer will always get fewer responses.
