just the screen wont turn on..but the tower runs and everything, just cant see anything.

Let me add one more suggestion. Is the port where you plug the monitor cable, the one on the back of your computer, good and tight. If it moves much at all, then your video card has come loose from the AGP/PCI slot.

Well, make sure that the monitor is plugged into the wall, the monitor is plugged into the PC, and that the power switch to the monitor is in the on position.
For further testing, try your monitor on another computer, or a different monitor on your computer. That should help to narrow down the problem.

Have you tried the monitor power switch? Check the connectors from the PC to the monitor. Make sure they are snugly connected and turn the screws on the connectors to tighten the connection.

is the power on for the monitor??? I know that may sound stupid but it has happened :o) May not be the video may be the monitor itself. what kind/color of light is on the monitor? Is it solid or flashing? Green or amber? These all are factors in determining what may be wrong. Hope this helps....
