I get really annoyed by that, hello, you have a freaking spell checker right there, use it!!!

I've noticed, but I doubt that it is as prevalent as we might think. The Internet has encouraged us to abbreviate, even to invent abbreviations which aren't used in other forms of writing. Therefore, I think many of the errors we see are attempts to abbreviate which are not well thought out. Also, there is too much reliance on spell check which is a very limited dictionary.

That amazes me too. You see spelling errors even on signs and in newspapers and magazines too.
The spelling problems and grammar errors on yahoo are terrible but some of those are because English is peoples second language on yahoo.

There are txt-language words, and there are grossly misspelled English words. The funniest I've seen recently is "infidel" spelled "infadell" or something like that.

Not really. Think if that happened to you. You know everyone is not perfect. If god someone less brighter than that is how it is. And there is nothing bad about it, UNLESS IT IS THE PERSON WHO DOESN'T WANT TO LEARN.
