Tell them you dont have a voicemail or caller ID and that you rarely answer cause you are always on the go (if the person wants to call you, you won't know who it is so it's useless for them to get your number). Tell them that instead, the best way to reach you is by email (where you can decide to reply or not, and it's less awkward than a phone conversation), heck even give them your email with a little typo in it ;)

I tell them that I am busy, and that I would like to get THIER home phone number, so I can call them and discuss it at 11:30 on a weekend.

They'll say, "I'm sorry, we're not allowed to give out our phone number."

And I'll reply, "Yeah, that's probably the best idea. You wouldn't want some (explitive) calling you at home on your day off, would you?!" -- Then I hang up the phone. Lol, it's great!

I usually pull out the boyfriend card, I hate using it cause it sounds so....cliched, I wish I could think of something more original. I've told guys straight up that I'm not interested too. I sometimes give the wrong number, I use my original number and just flip two numbers. I hate being sneaky like that, but sometimes I just feel so bad. Guilt makes people do desperate things.

I tell them I never give that info out. Please give me yours. I do not say I will call or when. If they get forceful, I have memorized other numbers of different real places. If they know the number I am giving, I turn and walk. Most likely someone else has given that number too.

Depends on your age really....

If you are a teen.....
You can tell them that your parents don't allow anyone to call the house
And if they know you have a cell, tell them that you have Sprint and that your parents have "Parental Control" and can control your received calls and your outgoing calls.
(Cause all the numbers are already programmed by them)

If you are an Adult.....
Tell them that you don't have a home phone or that your cell phone is prepaid and you only use it for emergencies, but that they can give you theirs, that way you can call them collect.

I give them "Jenny"'s number (u no- 867-5309). Though i am careful not to sing the song so I don't give it away. Only once was I busted, then I just played it off; but they got the hint cause they didn't call.

1. No!
2. I'm not interested.
3. I don't have a phone (I said this to some guy on campus when I had my cell phone in my hand. He said "what's that in your hand?" and I said "it's a calculator").
