There are alot of hoaxes out there. So you really have to be careful what you believe. However the idea is that by joining hands and combining energy and concentration you are doing one of two things. Either contacting a spirit that in turn lifts the table or using a type of telekenisis to cause the movement.

Another similiar popular one is "light as a feather, stiff as a board" where someone lays in the floor and completely realxes there body. Everyone surrounds the person and places their fingertips under them. The begin to chant "Light as a feather, stiff as a board" while imagining their body rising from the floor.

It's a trick to make money, but don't play around with seances. Or any other spiritual things you don't understand. You can invite evil without meaning to do that. This is not a game.

It's called table tilting, people have done it for a long time. Tha spirit answers your question by thumping or moving the table.

called a seance and not required for many people to be involved if you want to contact a spirit. However many people are not aware that you must return them, hence the amount of hauntings that happen by unreturned spirits.
