Don't listen to people who tell you what to believe.

Do your homework on issues and make up your own mind.

You may well find you don't totally agree with either philosophy in total. All those things do is label people anyway.
You decide what you believe and don't worry about calling yourself liberal or conservative, or neoconservative, or democrat, or republican, or left, or right or whatever other lame label people want to use to try to narrow you into an easy classification for their small minds to be able to comprehend whether they will like you or not.

The terms liberal and conservative have been so misused and confused by improper usage that they hardly mean anything concrete anymore.

Being libertarian, one could say I am neither liberal or conservative or they could say I'm both. :-)

To the links already provided I will add http://www.quiz2d.com which is a little simpler and doesn't have as many confusing questions as the political compass quiz.

If you don't know what you are than you are not that into politics.

However a quick breakdown:

liberal= pro-choice, against the Iraq war, for universal health care, believes in global warming and gun control.
conservation= the opposite of everything above.

However, this general list is not always true. Educate yourself and think for yourself and don't let yourself be swayed by spin.

here is a link that will guide you. it asks questions about the issues of the day and then it will place you on the spectrum.

you don't have to be lib or con. those are just labels to divide us.

JBMH's link is excellent.....cuts straight to the issues.

Unfortunately, you'll be like the rest of us non-wingers. Some issues you'll be in the conservative camp, some issues you'll be in the liberal camp.

Try the world's shortest political quiz. I don't have the link. It is very broad, but will give you a bit of insight. From there, you can research your findings.

Keep in mind that you are unlikely to fit nicely into one catagory.

I am a libertarian with conservative leanings.

trust me when I say don't let others label you. just start thinking about the issues and where you fall will work itself out. you may be extreme to one side or the other or you may be right in the middle.. who knows. but I promise you it is better for you, and your ability to express why you think what you think, if you do this on your own.
