I have gotten to expect this and I check everything I order to make sure it is indeed what I asked for before leaving the window. It may annoy the staff and the people behind me but it sure gets the message across.

Simple cure:
Tell the operator that the order is taking too long to process and you'll wait AT THE speaker for the manager to take your order.
1) You'll have an attentive ear.
2) She'll get a clip behind the ear.

yeah i hate drive throughs .. so many times i have had the wrong order given to me or i am kept waiting for ages. one time they got my order muddled up and kept me waiting for ages, so they said next time you come back you can get a free ice cream. i then checked the bags and noticed a burger was missing, i was quite happy to go back round to get my missing burger and the free ice cream ha ha. but it also made me really annoyed that they could employ such stupid people lol.

Yes, it does, but I always give them the benefit of the doubt that they are hearing me incorrectly for a reason - like outside noise around me filtering through to them, or a technical problem with their headset or something.

I have phobias about fast food restaurants period. Mostly try to stay away from them. Definitely try never to annoy them because I've heard numerous horror stories about how they mess with your food.

I try to explain him in loud (but not blasting) and clear words.
Let's not blame the servers who are minimum wage workers; they are under severe FINANCIAL strain. I'm passing through one of those phases and it's good to be a little sympathetic to the plight of those who suffer the most.
