I do!! Me! Me! Me! Over here, i do!
Why cant some people on Yahoo get it through their heads that God loves everyone and their differences? He smiles upon love be it gay or straight.

Im proud to belong to a chuch that welcome everyone to come worship w/ us and allows anyone who wants to share their love of the Lord to become a minister.

Not all churches are like westboro baptist. I love everyone and please let me know if you feel the same way. Im not even gay but i have pride!!!!!

Instead of a negitive discussion on the topic of gays and christinaity, why not have a positive one?? C'mon, share your thoughts an experiences!

Sudonym,
I belong to the United church of Canada, so unfortunatly, there are none in Kansas. But, if you are ever in Canada, you are more than welcome to visit a service.

I wrote this a few minutes ago for another question where a young lady was questioning her sexuality and was afraid because she and her parents were devout Christians. I was responding to someone who before me said that she could not be Bisexual and Christian at the same time. I got on my soapbox and said what I felt:

"I get so mad when I hear so called Christian say the meanest things. Being bisexual has nothing to do with being Christian. There are many bisexual and gay Christians. Unfortunately, too many are closeted and miserable. Why are so many gay and bisexual Christians hiding in the closet, cruising public places, viewing porn on the internet, guilty about who they really are. There is nothing in the Gospels that Jesus himself said anything about sexual attraction between the same gender. Only shoes and clothes should be in a closet, and I believe God would not be happy with the number of people who hide in the Church's closet while sinning on the side. You can be bisexual and EVEN GAY and still be a Christian. You just may not be a Christian in the church you grew up in, especially if it is fundamental and misinterpreting the bible."

I stand by this a hundred percent and yes, I do believe you can be a Christian and be Gay or Lesbian or Bisexual. I have a very good friend who is a Minister and he is Bisexual. There should not be any distinction.

I wrote a PSA a few year back in graduate school that reflects my beliefs: I want to share it with you guys. It is copywrighted but I will allow it to be used as long as it is being used for positive mean and I am made aware of its use. In other words, creative commons license with attribution:

I believe in a God that loves
My God created people, different types of people.
Different shapes, different sizes, different colors,
Different ethnicities, different cultures, In different families,
In Different relationships, with different types of loves
My God is Great and yes, My God is tolerant.
Some believe that God endorses hate
Intolerance, Injustice.
Could it be that they believe in a different God?

I hope this helps any of you who are searching for God and are gay. Neither has to be exclusive. Good luck and God bless.

Anyone who believes that barricading the church doors against anyone- like segregationists trying to keep black kids out of white schools- is an act of Christian love needs stop beating people over the head with their Bibles for a few minutes and actually open them. There are many, many, many actions that are condemned in the Bible, but are not even frowned upon by so-called Christians any more- among them divorce, eating shellfish, interracial marriage, women who speak back to their husbands, and of course coveting wealth. No, I no longer consider myself a Christian, in large part because the word has become synonymous with the exploitation of others, attacking those that are different, and arrogance, but none of these selfish actions can be reconciled with the teachings of Christ.

My wife and I went to a Christian marriage workshop with a number of people including a lesbian couple. It soon became clear they had the same joys and fears as the rest of us. And guess what? Their faith seemed as important to them as anyone else.
Contrary to what some imagine, nowhere in the New Testiment is there any record of Jesus condemning homosexuality or excluding homosexuals from Heaven.
I certainly do not have the last word on who God is or what God wants from us, but in a world filled with crimes of violence and hate (some of which continue to be perpetrated in the name of religions or nations with a supposedly religious outlook) I believe that God has more to be concerned about than who we choose to love.

I'm more of a agnostic Christian. I believe in God and was raised Christian. There are some Gay churches in my area but haven't been to one yet (went out last week and bought a new bible), but am planning on it soon. I know God still answers my prayers and there are some good morals in the bible. Thanks for sharing.

I dont see why you even have to make that decision, the churches here on earth THINK that they are doing what god wants. Since the times of Jesus the church has changed its opinions many times so why even listen to them. They do what is convenient for them. I.E. In the crusades they through 'thou shalt not kill' out the window and even said that any christian that goes off to war will be REWARDED in heaven. I think that all each of us can do is follow our own morals and see what god accepts when we meet him.

God loves every single one of us no matter what and he is waiting for us with open arms........
but in the Bible in Levitcus 18 it clearly states that a man is NOT to lay with a man as he does with a woman and the same for a female....it tells us not to and for people who do so; they just will not inherit the kingdom of God, but nevertheless God still loves you and he will never turn his back on you, but you have got to obey his word. He doesn't just write it to be evil or cruel or whatever.... he gives it to you for a reason, and sometimes you might not understand why, but you've got to TRUST him.

your lucky to go to a church where things like that are welcome. my church is anything but. now I'm gay and i saw this pamphlet at my church for "same-sex unions". so i grabbed it and i was reading it and it said that being gay is a sin and a "same-sex union" is not marriage because its not literally the uniting of a man or woman. but then after this it said we would should be brotherly to gay people even if their way of life is a sin. im not sure about you, but that absolutely makes no sense to me

I am christian and I am gay. I am not answering to any priest from any Church or to anyone for my acts but to God. God loves his children.
