Boost is not actually a energy drink it has no caffeine. It is full of vitamins and minerals. Normally I would say yes but since you are pregnant I would ask the Dr. Your prenatal vitamins provides you with all of the vitamins and minerals that you need. Getting some extra in the drink could be harmful.

My best answer would be to consult your doctor. It's better to be safe than sorry. However, I would have thought eating a more nutritious breakfast would be healthier for you and your baby other than an energy drink. If you don't have time to make breakfast in the morning, would it not be possible to make something the night before instead maybe? That's probably not much help to you but never mind!

It's all about minimizing or eliminating caffeine. If I'm not mistaken, Boost is a nutritional supplement, not an "energy drink." If that's correct, then sure, you could drink Boost instead of eat a meal. (It's a biggie in nursing homes, hospices, etc. for people who can't or won't eat.)

When someone says energy drinks aren't good for pregnant women, they mean energy drinks that rely on sugar and caffeine to give you that jolt.

I wouldn't recommend drinks like those. You should be eating real food, so there will be enough energy to support you and your developing baby. If you don't have enough time to have a sit-down breakfast in the morning, then I suggest setting out breakfast food (something portable, like some fruit and veggies) the night before, so you could just grab and go. Take it easy.

Boost SHOULD be fine as it's not made of massive chemicals and caffeine like most energy drinks. It's basically a nutritional suppliment.
But since you're eating for two, it's always a good idea to check with your OB.
You need good nutrition for a healthy baby. But, you already knew that......... :>)

You should probably put in a call to your doctor's office and ask the question. They'll probably have had this question before and looked into the effects this type of drink can have on the unborn baby.

Good luck. :)

I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to drink stuff with caffeine.

Ask your doctor. If you don't have an appointment to see your doctor anytime soon, call his nurse.
