i work at a bank and if a customer is in chexsystems they dont have the slightest chance of opening an account for least for a few months even if you already paid the banks you owe.

I work at a bank and usually if you are on ChexSystems, you'll be on it forever until you pay off what you owe. Some banks might forgive your debt after a certain number of years (usually 7 years). But that's not a common occurence!

You might also have to enroll in a program (forget what it's called right now). But, at the end of the program, you get a certificate that allows you to open accounts for you.

In the meantime, if you want a bank account, try credit unions. They might be less stringent. Or get a job at a bank and they'll override the ChexSystems message.

I am afraid those are all the choices you have!

Just call up a bunch of banks, tell them the truth and one of them is bound to say yes eventually. Sometimes if you open a savings account and have it for a while they will let you open a checking account. Does your employer offer a credit union? They may cut you some slack. You may have to live with no checking account for a while but that's not the end of the world. You most likely can open a savings account somewhere. Everyone makes mistakes. Few talk about them. You're human like everyone else. This will pass. You're okay.
