a simple dogbone for your rear shock. all you need is jack stands and some wrenches.. and maybe a bit of general mechanical knowledge, shouldn't take more than 45 mins to replace. but now you may need to chop your kick stand, otherwise the bike will sit nearly straight up.

As long as you don't ride like a racer, dragging your knee through turns, the minimal lowering will not affect the handling to the point of a dangerous condition.
They wouldn't sell the stuff if it was dangerous.

you can lowewr the back spring by your self, look in your tools in the back, its there, really easy to do, just a few turns with it but your suspention will be a bit stiffer, also you can shave the seat pading if you go to a leather shop or a seat shot they will do that for you 4 cheep.
