Just for fun I planted a black oil sunflower seed from my birdfeeder in a cup of plotting dirt. Now the seed has sprouted a root, but the seed is upside down, so the root is heading to the top of the cup. It has already changed its direction so its heading towards the bottom of the cup, but I am worried about the stem when it grows. Should I try to replant it the right way?

Your sunflower is fine. There is no right or wrong direction to plant a seed because the seedling will always know the right direction to grow. However, I would suggest that you find an outside location to grow it because sunflowers need plenty of room to grow. Either a very large planter, or the ground.

The root and stem will take the natural direction that they're supposed to go. So don't worry. You will need a bigger pot with more soil or plant it outside. Sunflowers, even small ones need a lot more than a cup of soil to grow to their full size.

You can leave it alone. Plants know which way is up, and it will naturally grow towards the light. So unless the light is underneath it, it will be fine!

Let it complete it's entire life cycle, and you'll be able to plant a ton of them next year with the seeds!

I'm hooked on them. Seriously, as soon as I begin consuming them I can not give up for baggage and days on finish. They must be those int he shell - and I select Davids company. It will get to the factor in which the salt makes my lips and tongue harm. My husband makes be give up after a whilst if we're within the identical room considering that the cracking of the shells makes him wish to leap over to in which I am and strangle me. He firmly believes it could be justifiable murder.
