At your age.. your period is always messed up. Its just your body getting used to the idea of having a period. Its not regualar or can be light some months and heavy the next. I went through a similar thing to you.
Don't worry so much as your body will take a few years to adjust to having a period. Next time you see your doctor just mention it to him and ask what he thinks about it.

The thing about the female body at your age is that it's normal to be abnormal. Periods anyway can be very erratic for anyone at any age. You're fine. Take a big breath and soldier on. If you're absolutely freaking out, talk to your step mom. She may be a step mom, but she's still a woman. If worse comes to worse, I doubt your mom would hate you if you interrupted her vacation for 10 minutes to ask a girl question.
It's only 45 more years until menopause (sorry, I know you didn't need that).

It is normal for a period to be weird for awhile. It can take up to 2 years for your cycle to normalize. Relax. You are perfectly fine.
(Tampons are completely safe as long as you change them within 6-7 hours.)

u tell us ur 97 lbs but we dont know how tall u are so that doesnt help.....anyways, it can be irregular especially for the first year. sometimes it even stops and then restarts. go to ur doctor though if ur really worried, or if it is heavy longer than a 10 days.

Might sound like a stupid question but maybe you could try talking to your step mum? She is a woman and will definately sympathise.
I think this is pretty normal. I was really irregular - like you - when I first got mine so I think it depends. It will settle down with time.

Completely normal. I think everone goes through this irregular period. It might take a few years, but you'll be fine. Nothing's wrong. No worries. ;)

I did a research and some tampons aren't safe this could probably be sighs of TSS. Go to TSS.com and check it out your self.

Your body is probably still trying to regulate itself, don't worry.
Hopefully, one of these will help, good luck hun'
