You want the real answer? Because Orlando is as close to hell as you can get... thus the similar temperature. If you just moved here and you all ready figured out the weather sucks wait until you experence the crime and traffic!

This is because Florida is located in the midst of very warm water (i.e. The Tropics). It's hot because of its position on the planet. It's humid because it's hot and there's a lot of water around to evaporate into the atmosphere.

Every day water in the Gulf and the Atlantic is evaporated into the air. This water drifts across the state and creates the humidity (a term used to descripe the amount of water in the air). This same effect causes the late afternoon thunderstorms in Orlando. The warm air from the gulf slams into the cooler air from the Atlantic right over Central Florida. This creates clouds which, combined with other conditions, eventually turn into thunderstorms usually betwee 3pm and 6pm everyday. You haven't seen hot and humid until August so relax. The best is yet to come.

I think it is because half of the state of Florida is either paved with roads or paved with parking lots. When I first moved here there was still pastures and plenty of orange groves covering a lot of the land, now we have so many highways, malls and strip malls they seem to attract all of the heat and it just seems to hang in the air. You walk out your front door and the heat and humidity just hits you right in the face.

Thank God for air conditioning!

I moved away for a short while and after dealing with the snow and freezing weather I packed my stuff and headed back so of the two choices hot and humid or freezing cold I will take hot and humid, even if it does mean extra pony tail days because of bad hair days.

Florida is actually subtropical. But with an approximate latitude of 28 degrees north, Orlando will be hot. Think of it this way - while your relatives in the northern states are freezing their buns off and shoveling snow after a blizzard, you can be outside washing your car in your shorts! So there is a balance.

i suppose its because Florida is so close to the equator. Plus your in the summer months right now and it can be almost 100 in the day and 90 at night at the end of the summer it will cool down September - November is 20% better the June,July, and August. and then the weather varies from extreme heat to cold in January threw march. Hope that helps!

Yeah because its Florida. The whole state of Florida is hot and humid especially if you live near the coast.

The area's warm and humid climate is caused primarily by its low elevation and its position relatively close to the Tropic of Cancer, and much of its weather is affected by the movement of the Gulf Stream.

I suppose if you had decided to relocate to Antarctica, you would be asking why it is so cold every day.
