knock'em dead Okiefan! i hope you all cause quite a stir and have a damn good time doin it. show those radio ******* that if they don't support the classics you all will and more so, you will take your "business" elsewhere if they do not play real country, instead of all this slick crap they are pushing on folks, robbing all generations of country music listeners of the true counntry tradition. now isn't it sad what kids these days think country music is? it almost makes sense why you here alot of young people say, i like every kind of music but country, it's because the new stuff sucks, and that's all they know, because most so-called country music radio stations play nothing but shameful crap, and they all ought to be ashamed of what they have done to country music, it's history, and to all the greats who made this wonderful music, robbing the true spirit and tradition from all fans of real country and a new generation who will never know the tradition, and since they don't know, they don't know better. it is all business. that is all these slick-shine jacks care about. well, people are turning their radios off in droves, and going elsewhere to get their country music. someone might make a banner that says, DO WE NEED TO TURN OUR BACKS ON "FREE RADIO" AND SWITCH OVER TO SATELLITE AND INTERNET RADIO, WHERE THEY ARE HAPPY TO PLAY REAL COUNTRY!? WE CAN TURN OUR BACKS ON YOU JUST AS EASILY AS YOU HAVE DONE TO US. IF YOU DON'T MAKE SOME CHANGES FAST WE WILL BE GONE...AND SO WILL ALL YOUR ADVERTISING MONEY" you see becuase most younger people do not listen to reg.radio anymore anyway, with all the downloading sites, and also internet and satellite radio. if reg. radio wants to keep up, they had better CHANGE and play what the listensers want. and believe me they are very concerned, this has even gone before congress, reg.radio is so worried that they have been trying to put a stop to internet and satellite radio. but their gig is up. they can't stop it now. people are sick of all the crap on the radio, and having some idiot who cares nothing about the music decide what "we" listen to. REMIND THEM OF THIS FACT. they put up a fake front like they are not worried, but they are scared **itless, and they should be. if they do not start paying attention to the fans, they will lose a lot of money. so called "FREE-RADIO" is free of real country music. they're are a few exceptions, but not many. the power is in the hands of the listener, because we no longer HAVE TO LISTEN to their crap with all the other choices available, and this is happening in all generes of music.REAL COUNTRY FANS STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY YOURS, AND DO NOT LET THE TRADITION DIE. Power be to you Okiefan, "show them what you got", that is language that they will understand. have a blast Okiefan, wish i could be there to see your band in action. anyway, i can go on and on, but i have strong feelings about this, and i think what you are doing is really great. you got the spirit and you back it up. not a whole lot of people have it in them to give back to country, all that country has given to them. i think i said enough.

Oooooh Okie! You GO Girl!
It would be great if you could get people to sign petitions saying they'd support businesses that advertised during classic country playing airtime! Then let the businesses know that there are potential customers out there for them!
I remember in high school that a local DJ came to talk to our journalism class about radio and such. He told us that although he was glad we enjoyed the music the station played, the powers that be didn't care if we, as teenagers, listened or not because they were wanting to reach a different age group. It's all about money. If the station can make money, they're more likely to listen to what you have to say! :) However, if the station is owned by a big corporation, they may not listen...even radio stations aren't like they used to be! So much is satellite feeds now! :(
Times have changed, but not much for the better...

Sounds like you got it covered. I would love to stop by and get a bumper sticker. By the way, how big is that bumper sticker. It sounds more like a billboard. lol
