Sorry there are no easy quick answers which will do justice to the ANY conflict going on in the world today, let alone Darfur.

And asking for a "Cliff's Notes" version of the story of thousands of deaths and the misery of HUNDREDS of thousands, lets me know a detailed answer to your question would be a waste of my time. Go to Google and start typing in Search parameters.

Start with Darfur, any website with ".gov" or ",org" after the name. Any sites with a ".com", and youre gonna get what they LOVE to shovel over there at Fox Noise, but you dont want commentary or opinion,(you dont have TIME for that) you want FACTS.

Avoid Wikipedia. No one does fact checking over there, it is not a legitimate resource for facts as opposed to propaganda. Read some right leaning stuff, read some left leaning, then make up your OWN mind, but base your conclusions on FACTS, not fear, not innuendo, not hearsay or from something Rush Limbaugh said.

The Sudan is run by an all powerful dictator. He lets death squads run a muck in the country. For the most part Islamic extremists are attempting to take over the country by killing all Christians and black people in the country. Many have fled ahead of the death squads creating refugee camps of hundreds of thousands.
