No. The adapters go from 1/4" to 1/2". Only way to have a 1/2" router is to buy one. At least then you will have a 1/4 and 1/2" router. I had the same problem. 1HP is a little light for 1/2" bits anyways. You can buy a Skil 2-1/4 HP with fixed and plunge base at Lowes for $86. Uses 1/4 and 1/2" bits.

if you can get a chuck to fit it you can change it from 3/8 to 1/2 ....the only problem with this is that the unit was built not to use any bit above a certain size....Once you change the chuck to a larger size and start using larger bits than the router is suppose to drive...eventually it will burn up because of it being overloaded by using to large a bit in it....

my router came with a 1/4 in. collet and a 1/2 in. collet, so you can use either if the motor will handle the strain...

just change the chuck, don't kill the cow because you have 1/2" on it now, saver your tools so they don't burn out.
