where are the stars in the night sky?

As i look out at the sky in the night i'm wondering where the hell the stars are at?
Why don't they appear?

They are there, there is just some reason you can't see them. It might be cloudy. Clouds are much much lower than stars. You might live in a bright city. When I lived in Knoxville, I never saw stars. Also pollution can cloud the sky, which is another reason I never saw them in Knoxville.

Perhaps you night sky is not so dark as it once was. City lights can and do overwhelm the stars. Tonight, drive about an hour out into the country, stop someplace not near any artificial lights, turn off your headlights, get out and look up. You will see plenty of stars, it it isn't cloudy.

it's probably very foggy or cloudy out, or too much pollution from the city covering up the atmosphere, or there were too many night city lights on that obscured the vision of the sky and you couldnt see the stars. something along those lines.

Errr..could it be cloudy?
Or maybe you are in a city and the light polution is overwhelming the light from the stars.

...is the sky cloudy? That could prevent you from seeing the stars.
...do you wear glasses, and haven't had your prescription updated?

do you live in a city? if so they won't appear because of the lights.

too close to the inner city...too much light pollution go out to the country and you see them...it its clear out

You can't just do that. You have to go outside first.
