Actually, enjoying sports has little to do with it. If you like to write, then you have a chance to become a sports journalist. You have to care about whether to use a comma or semicolon, care about what the most important part of a story is, and care about what the most important stories of the day are.

The skills are a little different in broadcasting. Appearance obviously counts. Play-by-play voices have to describe the action accurately and in an exciting way; analysts have to get to the point quickly and in an entertaining way.

Hope that helps a little in pointing you in a direction.

Journalism is journalism... so any type of journalism you choose, whether it is online, broadcast or newspaper/magazine you have to be a good writer/reporter... you need to know what you are reporting on/analyzing...so if sports is it, you really have to study it and know it...be up-to-date with it... so even though it sounds fun you really have to listen/watch/read about sports news/scores, etc... 24/7... so you can communicate to your audience what you know and most importantly make sure it is accurate...

In broadcast...sure appearance counts but you have to be good at what you do...not just look good on camera... if you are leaning toward broadcast I recommend taking a few news production classes...and definitely an internship at a local newstation so you could see how the sports anchor/reporter works... and that will help you decide for yourself what path of journalism you want to take...
Another (easier) way you can find out is by writing a couple of articles in your community college newspaper about the school's teams/games... college newspapers can always use an extra writer... and THAT will show you how it is to write for a newspaper... maybe you'll like it!!

Good luck!
