The computer center for which I work consisted of:
(1) An extremely secure, climate-controlled computer room containing all mainframe elements, including CPU, hard drives, tape drives.
(2) A somewhat less secure input-output room for printers, so that products for customers could be fetched for computer users quickly
(3) A somewhat less secure and climate-controlled room for networking equipment
(4) A secure room for systems programmers/administrators, who control system passwords, deep system machine code, and the like,
(5) application programmers areas of various sorts; and
(6) manager offices (duh...)
