Despite the fondest wishes of the hater contingent, Bonds remains quite capable of doing pretty much anything he wants to do on the field. So if he wants to come back in 2008, some team will sign him -- Oakland, probably -- and he'll get those last 60 or 75 or 80 hits he needs to reach 3000. He'll also be in position (not very good position, probably won't do it, but possibly could) catch Henderson for the runs scored record.

If nothing else, it'll be the capstone tweak of the nose to all his critics and haters. They hate; Barry plays; guess who is enjoying it more?

It is likely that Barry will finish this year somewhere around 100 hits, finishing this season around 2950 Because he is walked so often he has no chance this year. It is unlikely that he'll play next year, however if he does he'd need to get another 50 hits next season to surpass 3000. Even with as much as he is walked he should be able to pull off 50-60 hits next season if he chooses to play

no, i doubt it. He need 104 hits to reach 3000. Next season he will probably get injured and only reach about 2960. he will then retire, but he will have the HR record.

How many does he have now? If it's around 28 or 2900 and he comes back for another season and they pitch to him, maybe. He's slowing down a whole lot though so I'm not sure he has enough left unless he's pretty close.

he has 2896 hits so if he stays healthy and maybe plays another year (which I doubt he will since he is going to break the homerun record) than he will

It depends on if he plays another year or not. He won't make it this year but he will make it in 2008 if he plays.

No. Because I do not think he has enough desire to come back in 2008.

I think that if he goes to an AL team and plays his real position (DH) he will.
