The hospital doesn't have security guard. There are prior similar incidents in the same place. Can I hold the hospital liable? What type of case can I file? The police did not do anything. Where can I turn to? thanks.

Most properties have a sign stating they aren't responsible for any loss of vehicle contents and even stamp it on a parking ticket.

No the hospital is not liable, the only way the can absurd any liablity is if they are a paid lot and they issue a ticket out and on that ticket there is nothing in writing about your vehicle and possessions. Otherwise, it would be as though you had parked on a public street and your car was stolen. The only place you can turn to is to law enforcement to advise them of the situation and your insurance company to see if they will pay for the vehicle.

Most of the time, a business with a public parking area will put up a sign that says they are not reliable for any theft or damage to vehicles while in their parking lot. If this hospital has one of those signs, then they are not liable for anything. I don't know how it works if they don't have one.

Probably not. Most public places have a "We are not responsible" sign somewhere posted. Sorry it happened to you.
