The only way that sophisticated products like TV, computers, radios, satellites and cars can exist is because God gave us the intelligence to design and build them. There's no way that an amoeba could "evolve" into a monkey and then into a human being that's capable of developing these things. Or do the so-called "scientists" think perhaps a rock all by itself evolved into a chunk of steel, then into a transistor radio and finally became a PC? That's no more absurd than the thoery of evolution, which states that monkeys evolved into humans!

This is a serious question. No stupid answers please! Do not regurgitate liberal propaganda from a so-called "science" book.

Shhhhh, your exposing the idiocy of their theory!! Agreed 100%. Another giant hole in their theory they refuse to addres because they can't is, if everything evolved from something, where did the first something come from. Did it appear out of thin air, and if so, where did the air come from. Bottom line is something just doesn't appear out of nothin.

Also note how none of the responses have anything sustantial to offer but the usual banter. Oh, rocks aren't related to transistors, and glass isn't related to brains. Yet their stupid theory says that everything evolved from something so if you take that back to its ultimate beginning you had to start with something like a piece of sand or a rock or a drop of water, so yes then a transistor would in fact be related to a rock and a brain would be related to a piece of glass. This should be comical.

"The evolution theory is basically saying we got to where we are by literal deformities. In a group of green fish, a young fish comes out. He's different from the rest, he's blue. Everyone mocks him for being different, yet he never seems to get eaten by bigger fish. Only the fast or the strong fish stay alive. What's different about him? The color. He blends in to the environment, he's blue like the sea. He lives on, has kids, and some of them are blue too. Pretty soon every fish that doesn't blend in is dead, and that one deformity sparked a whole change in a population. That's how the fish got blue, or silver, or whatever color that species is. Then a blue fish's lungs needed a different mix of air, and went to the land, where it had no natural predators. Then it grew to stubs of an arm. pretty soon there were monkeys. The predators got stronger, so only the smart survived. They began to build huts, and create their own shelter, instead of relying on trees and caves. This was the start of the era of Homo Sapien. Now, you saying that a rock would evolve into steel is completely ridiculous. Evolution strictly happens over hundreds of generations. It cannot happen in one thing, let alone something inanimate. With outside force, yes, it could become steel, but that is not evolution. It's apples and oranges. The two are not compatible and therefore cannot be compared." That's the argument for evolution.

The argument for Christians is,"God did it."
And honestly, I don't see why the two theories can't be compatible. God did the big bang, Earth was created and monkies evolved into humans. It doesn't have to be one or the other. But, honestly, I don't care. The only reason I answered this question is because you confused evolution with liberal propaganda. The only propaganda set out by politicians is that the war in Iraq is necessary. But that's just me. Believe what you want to, just don't go insulting people.

I am not sure what you are even asking here. Are you asking about the theory of evolution? About god creating people? or if scientists think that pc's came from a rock? I think that if you are seeking a well balanced, sophisticated answer you need to restructure your question and be specific. This same battle of man vs. science can be asked right back to you. As in: Why do you think one "man" sits on top of a cloud and contradicts everything we do as humans? Explain why you think that one person has the power to create such wonders as the grand canyon and the great barrier reef? Why do people put faith into something they cannot see, feel, hear, or touch? How can someone believe in a holy power (that strictly says THOU SHALL NOT KILL) and then start a "holy war in the name of god" and kill innocent women, children and men? Every war has been started for one of two reasons, religion or money. Go to Europe and see what Catholics did to Rotenburg Ob De Tauber.
I believe in things that I can see and can be proven. I am not some super liberal person that thinks I am right because everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I am no one to put down anyone else for not believing in what I believe in. But....between the chromosomes, physical characteristics and features, humans are closely linked to monkeys and gorillas. Evolution happens all of the time in other creatures....look at some fish. They have adapted over time to access its needs in a changing world/environment. Adaptation is natural, it happens and there is not one person that can say it doesn't. It is science and it has been proven. Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying that you are wrong for having faith in god, but I am saying don't discount science, and degrade it as something that is a fallacy. Without science and physics you would not have a phone, that computer you are on, electricity, health care, or anything else. Is there any proof that some dude somewhere said let there be light???..........other than in a 5 thousand year old book? Do you remember the game telephone that we used to play as kids? Do you also remember that what one person said at the beginning, 5 minutes later was something totally different? Lets extend this game over a couple thousand years and see how it all pans out.

Tisk, tisk. This might have been a good and legit question if you would have presented it in a way that showed "thou does not knowest all" attitude. You ask a question only to create turmoil for you have already made you convictions clear, perhaps years or even days ago. Back during the Black Plaugue years a small group of zealots formed an order called the Flagulists, they went from town to town flailing their own flesh from their backs in the name of God in hopes of sparing the town from the ravishes of the time. Maybe at first, like you, they believed in what they were doing, but greed and human arrogance as always raised it's ugly head and perversed the whole idea of their philosophy, money and prostitutes were offered as payments, farm land and key postions in the social structures of the towns they visited were oft hinted at. Loe and behold all that these patriots for God wanted were converts and concubines, also the spectre of life after death played a large role in their actions. This observation was well documented and after the scourge of the lands had abated and moved on to more fertile pastures these Flagulists were sought by the Christian knights and local constabulary and were meant to be brought to justice by order of the Pope, those that came quitetly were judged and jailed those that resisted and spewed their fevered crys of dire warnings were impaled on the spot.
Well after all this i would like to say that you missed your calling and your time by a few hundred years. All those many years ago the Flagulists bent and used the words of God and Christ and the Church to their own un-moral preachings, they paid the price. People of the times knew in their hearts what was the right word and what was the wrong word, but heretics like your self every so often have to perverse the very words that so many try to find truth in leading to the controversy that you and you alone have started today. If you do not believe in Evolution keep it to your self. If you believe in the Holy scripture keep it to your self. If you find your self gathering pleasure from animosity what kind of man are you and to whom do you align your self, God?, or the Therorists?.

We have cars and automobiles because humans have tried and tried and tried certain things over and over again with the intellegents the god gave them(like you said)(and for those people that might get offended by me saying god all i have to say to you is i dont care if you are offened). They never quit they just kept trying and trying until they got it right. As for the theroy of evolotion the reason that is around is because there is some proof from acient animals monkeys and things whose skull are remarkablly simallary to are skulls. Now, i am not saying the i beileve in the Theroy of Evolution im just saying that there is proof that we might have evolved from monkeys. The computer came to be from a person that was tinkering with some things one day and figured something out, and one thing lead to another and then he had made the first computer. Put like i said the reason scientist beileve what they say they do, like dinosaurs and evolution, is because they have proof.do i hoped i helped you some.

Let's see...you want answers to your "serious question" but no one is allowed to answer with scientific explanations. This reveals two things about your faith :: (1) you have doubts; (2) you're trying to hide those doubts by refusing to acknowledge the truths presented by science.

What's tragic is that fundamentalist crackpots can't come to grips with the simple truth that a First Cause (..aka God..) and evolution are perfectly compatible. Instead you people focus on one of a ga-zillion different interpretations of a book written thousands of years ago by numerous discordant authors and that contains uncounted contradictions and proclaim that only your version is the right one.

Oh well, I suppose ignorance *is* bliss.

Televisions have evolved, look at the 1930's machines, the 1960 machines, the 1980 machines the current machines. Add to that the developments that failed (beta max & video disk) and that will show you a basic way evolution worked.

Accepting scientific theories (including the age of the earth) does not necessarily disregard the existence of God, or the inspirations recieved from Him/A Higher Power than ourselves, to invent or discover new technology. In other words, believing in science does not mean NOT believing in God! If you think hard about it, you may see that they are really the same thing.

There's plenty of evidence to support many scientific explanations. The same is true regarding God, although it may be more abstract & subjective, but real nonetheless.

Subscribing to one scientific theory does not have to mean subscribing to ALL scientific theories. My suggestion: Do not "throw out the baby w/ the bath water". Instead, educate yourself (ie- from some of the "so-called science books") , instead of being confined to one way of thinking. You asked...

Hey Real,
According to my understanding of the Bible, when Adam and Eve ate from the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge they gained "knowledge". According to that idea we now have television, automobiles and the Internet. If you are as pious at you are trying to make yourself out to be then why are you on the Internet? This is evil spawn of the devil, just like all of Man's other creations. I suggest you cease and desist with your rants and offer yourself up to the Lord in service of His Goals. At least then we won't have to read your questions anymore. Oh, and for your information, nowhere in the Theory of Evolution is it stated that monkeys evolved into humans. But then, closed-minded people only regurgitate neocon propaganda from a so-called "talk" radio.

Actually, evolution uses common ancestory to explain the similarities between humans and monkeys. Simple.

Perhaps that possibility makes you feel less important.

If rocks could reproduce, exchange material with their environment and die...all based on their physical properties...perhaps they could evolve into steel. Your comparison is absurd.

But never mind. Please continue looking to the Lard for all your answers.
