why do people have the need to litter + not care about the environment? it is one way to cause global warmiing

Because some people are self centered, ignorant and lazy. And I dont care who that offends. Here in Texas we have a website that alllows us to report litterers in thier vehicles. I get the licence plate, make and model of car, where the littering occured, who did it (driver/passenger) and what was littered. I turn in at least 8 or 9 people a week. They get a letter sent to thier house telling them they were caught. Nothing legal happens unfortunately.

And I can tell you that smokers are the worst offenders. Constantly fipping thier butts out of the window which is not only littering but potentially dangerous. Just ask wildfire victims.

My Fiance smokes but never, ever throws her butts down (and not just because she knows I will turn her in too...lol)

Lazyness is one factor as stated before. Though I have seen it done i direct difiance of the law. My father who was a National Park Ranger has seen people litter infront of him just to see what he would do. It can cause global warming in an indirect way. Litering recyclable products causes manufactureres to have make more products from raw resources instead of reusing the products already made. In wildfires (like stated above with cigarettes) it can be a contributor to global warming because of the large areas of forests that are no longer able to use CO2 and release oxygen.

Littering does not cause global warming, releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere causes global warming. The reason people litter is that they have no respect for themselves. When one does not respect their own self, one cannot respect anything.
