Going to a gyno is mostly to check for medical problems like cervical cancer. It is a preventative measure to make sure any problems are caught in plenty of time.

You would also go to a gyno if you are having any problems down there or if you wanted to get a prescription for birth control pills.

Your family physician can also do this during a normal physical.

Tampons are perfectly safe and if she wants to go scuba diving on her cycle I would most definitely suggest it. Yes, it is okay to use a tampon (scented or not) just make sure you remove it as directed on the box. Some girls leave that crap in (gross.....) that's how infections and all sorts of complications occur.

It is perfectly safe for any female to wear a tampon.
Comfort is the real issue. As long as she is comfortable with using tampons, then it is fine. Since she is young, she can use the smaller, light tampons.

Scented tampons can cause irritation with some females, and some prefer not to use them due to sensitivity. Again, it's up to the individual.

As long as she remembers to replace her tampon about every 4-5 hours, she'll be perfectly fine.

it depends on the type of tampon she is using. it should be fine and whatnot ..as long as she is careful.use the "sport" type .those are best for that occasion. they hurt a bit. but they also do me good. . i've also had it since i was 9,so i feel her agony..

tell *your friend* to just be at her best. and dont fear it b/c she cant get hurt. . jus make sure to change it within a few hours.

They are perfectly safe. Just tell her to make sure to change them within 8 hours (max).
They are not supposed to hurt. She shouldn't feel them at all. It probably isn't in all the way. Tell her to remove it and try again.
