Apply for a patent from patent office for your design/invention.

Do everything yourself. Don't go to one of those companies that "specialize" in new inventions they are rip offs. Research it to see if you have a one of a kind, get someone to make a drawing in detail of your invention and so on. Look up the requirements and get on line with the patent office. You should be able to get all necessary info from them.

Don't go anywhere with it or show your idea to anybody without copyrighting or patenting your sh**! I know a guy who sent an idea to some company and they stole his idea cuz he had not established his ownership of the idea. Save up whatever you have to to get it covered. It'll be well worth it in the end, especially if it's a really good product idea that hasn't been invented by anyone else yet. That way, if someone steals your idea like that barber I know, you can sue their asses!

You can file the application yourself online. It's only a couple hundred dollars. Any other place you go will charge you many thousands. So the only way to avoid getting ripped off is to do it yourself.

Get them patented, once you apply for the patent you own the intellectual property rights.
