its similar to the notebook slots you put the wireless card in. I want to put it in the desktop pc.

Its the PCI slot, usually white in color...thats in the desktop

irf you talking the PCMIA or PC card slot. desktops dont come with those installed but you may be able to order one...

Desktops, usually, don't have PCMCI card slots. If you want to connect the desktop via wireless, you need a USB wireless adapter, like this: http://www.microsoft.com/library/media/1033/windowsxp/images/using/networking/setup/69010-wireless-usb-small.jpg
