Ok, so I had my period for about 8 months now. It was regular from the beginning, excet for now. Sometimes my cycle is 25 days and sometimes 28. It keeps and switching. It's annoying because I want to know the exact day it would come. What should I do?

I efinetly DON'T want to go on birth control because I'm too young and I don't really need it. My periods are never that bad but just not regular, yet.

Well your period isn't regular yet, and you shouldn't take birth control because you're too young. I'd say just carry around extra pads when you think you'll get it or where a pantyliner the week you think you'll get it. Later it should be regular. Your lucky it's almost regular now. For some girls it all over the place the first year. Well good luck!!

Unfortunately we all would like to know when we were going to get our periods, but it does not always work that way. You may eventually go on a 28 day schedule. Your body may still be adjusting. You sound too young to take birth control pills, which would put you on a regular cycle. Give it some time. At least you know the week it will begin--:)

I think that you should go to an OBGYN and start on some form of birth control. When I met my boyfriend 2 1/2 years ago, I started on birth control to keep my period regulated because we didn't want any kind of pregnancy scare or anything. Taking birth control is a great way to start making your period predictable and it makes you feel a lot happier, trust me. Just remember not to miss a pill and always take the pills at the same time every day.

That is normal. A cycle is an AVERAGE of 28 days, meaning one month it could be 21 days and another could be 30 days. If you want to know the exact day, go on birth control.

Don't worry. If your period just started 8 months ago, it is completely normal for the first year of menstrual cycle to be irregular sometimes. If the irregularity still continues after a year, you can talk to your family doctor about this and get a check up.

Generally periods aren't regular until you're 18 years old. Until then, about the only thing you can do is always carry a pad with you and start paying attention to your body. (Most women can detect a little cramping about a day or two before you start.) I know it kind of makes it hard to plan ahead, like for vacation or whatever, but just remember that it is usually temporary, and you will grow out of it.

Well until at least like 2 years possibly, it could be driving you nuts for being irregular. its all normal. at least its not like ever 20 to 35 days. Thats crazy. It's fine if it gets a cycle and breaks it...its still early. Every girl strives to know the exact days...but just try to live with it and carry an extra pad or two in your purse for now.
Best of luck,
Sophie.

Just be ready for it when it comes close to time. Give it some time, it might regulate itsself. But then again, some women's periods don't. Also, if it is too much of an issue, if your parents and doctor ok it, birth control can help to regulate your period.

this is going to happen frequently. sometimes I skip 1 or 2 months of my periods. If you are concerned you should see your doctor and get him to prescribe you birth control. Birth Control will regulate it so it is happening at a constant time frame.

you shouldn't worry about it. it is normal for a cycle to run anywhere from 21-28 days. unless you have other problems associated with this change, just be prepared and know your own body. sleep, diet and exercise all have an effect on your period.
