Depends on what kind of workout you are doing

Weight training: you need to stick with the stuff that makes you feel like diving fast and kicking ***, bands like ramstien, korn, mudvayne, and slipknot are always good for pumping iron. The key to good weight lifting music is a hard-core bass guitar.

Cardio: you will want to go with the up-beat fast jams. Bands like lil john and the eastside boyz, dj unk, black eyed peas. Pretty much any club jam, Most of the time these types of songs will get you in a good mood, and you won't even pay attention to how long you have been running. I hope this helped out, have a good workout!

You could listen to Dir en Grey (japan) or Rammstein (germany), since they sing in different languages you would be focusing more on the intensity of the songs. Or you could buy/ burn a Family Values (hard rock/ metal) Tour CD and play it. Other bands to try: Slipknot, Shadows Fall, Zao, and Dragonforce

anything that can make you stop thinking about your workout and think about the music- it makes your workout seem to go a lot faster. even if its really light and slow. i listen to pink floyd a lot even though its some of the lightest stuff i own.

but if you want heavy, try slipknot or korn

alice in chains and the pixies are good if your into alternative/grunge
